We are working on translation of our discoveries into practical applications in collaboration with interested parties (e.g. companies, hospitals, etc.). Our current efforts are focused on the following areas:

1. Production of omega-3 fatty acids-enriched foods (meat, milk and eggs) through generation of transgenic livestock using our fat-1 biotechnology.
2. Development and clinical trial of lipid-based (mainly omega-3) products as functional foods, dietary supplements or nutraceuticals for health promotion or therapeutic intervention.
3. Development of quick and simple tests for assessment of essential fatty acid status and evaluation of a person’s risk of related diseases.
